The Sunday Soundtrack (A Christmas Chillout) – 21 Dec 08

Hello listeners….and Happy Holidays to all!

I’d like to thank everyone again for the warm welcome back after a few weeks hiatus and triumph over some small technical difficulties. One of my listeners was keen enough to remember that last week’s podcast was a repeat. For those just as keen, yes there will be times where I will repeat a podcast instead of rebuilding the entire archive (which I don’t think is possible because I doubt every page from last year is cached, though I do have a few that I’ve been able to recover). I hope everyone is well into the spirit of the season and more so remembers what the reason for the season is…the word Christmas describes that reason to a tee!  As mentioned to a few of you, this month marks the 1st anniversary of the Sunday Soundtrack podcast. In celebration of such, I am running a contest! Keeping it simple (’cause I couldn’t think of anything reaaally catchy – LOL ), all you have to do is place a call to the voicemail number below, and tell me what you like best about The Sunday Soundtrack Podcast. The winner will receive a custom Sunday Soundtrack podcast with up to 15 tracks of your choice (provided I can find them on iTunes), and personal voiceovers referencing you in the podcast (or no reference at all – your choice)! I’ll choose and announce the winner during the 28 December Sunday Soundtrack podcast. The cutoff is 11:59am EST on Dec 28. Provide me with your email address and I’ll provide you a download link to your podcast when done. It’s my way of saying thanks for making this podcast a success, in my eyes.

Just call 1-805-222-4641

..and remember … “..you gotta be in it to win it” 😉

The following tracks i think non-traditionally (genre-wise) fit the flow nicely. I have a few favorites that I just discovered over the last week. I hope you find a few as well. Without further adieu…the playlist is as follows:

1.The First Noel – Inverse Cinematics/The Reindeer Room, Vol. 1: A Christmas Chillout

2. What Child Is This? – The Pleasant Groove Minstrels/hOMe for the Holidays

3. We Three Kings  -Kurbis Blumen/The Reindeer Room, Vol. 2: A Festive Collection

4. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen – Zigo/The Reindeer Room, Vol. 1: A Christmas Chillout

5. Still Still Still – Kaskade/hOMe for the Holidays

6. Mi Ymalei (Who Can Retell?) – Craig Taubmas/The Reindeer Room, Vol. 3: Not So Silent Night

7. Carol of the Bells – Durbin Elf/The Reindeer Room, Vol. 1: A Christmas Chillout

8. Jingle Bells – Sub Santa /The Reindeer Room, Vol. 1: A Christmas Chillout

9. O Christmas Tree – Sub Santa/The Reindeer Room, Vol. 2: A Festive Collection

10. Good King Wenceslas – Billy Paul Wiliams and Nicole Henry/The Reindeer Room, Vol. 2: A Festive Collection

11. The Kwanzaa Song – Billy Paul Williams/The Reindeer Room, Vol. 3: Not So Silent Night

12. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas – DJ Trax/The Reindeer Room, Vol. 2: A Festive Collection

Keep it chilled….

peace,
F!

Welcome (back) To The Sunday Soundtrack – 14 Dec 08

I’d like to truly welcome all of you back to the Sunday Soundtrack. Thanks for the patience and comments left in the absence and transfer from my old (crappy) domain host to my new spiffy one…it’s definitely appreciated (you, my listeners and Dreamhost, my new host)! I hope all are enjoying the weekend thus far and getting into the holiday season.

As mentioned before, I am rebuilding the site as best as I can, and will adding new podcasts weekly. This month is a special one in that it marks the one year anniversary of The Sunday Soundtrack Podcast and with that, I’d like to thank all my listeners over that last year that have supported it. I am planning on adding a few new things for 2009, so please stay tuned!

A question is occassionally posed to me: Where do you find your tracks? I often choose tracks based on what I hear when I am driving, listening to XM Radio’s Channel 84 – Chill, or listening to Groove Salad – an excellent source for the genres presented in this podcast. Groove Salad has a podcast on iTunes via NPR that gives samplings of what they play. Rusty Hodge does a fine job of producing that podcast, complete with info on each artist. I often check out the tons of artists on myspace – a place that I have found to be the best place for the genres I seek. Creative Commons, iodapromonet and the podsafe music network are also places that come recommended. If you know of any not mentioned here, feel free to suggest the links to me.

That being said, without further adieu, this week’s playlist is as follows:

1. Summer Sun – Koop/Waltz For Koop
2. The Flow (Aural Float Remix Edit) – Vargo/Ibiza Chillout Edition
3. Good Morning London – Kaya Project/Elixir
4. City Childhood – Vision
5. Superdope – Jens Buchert/Intersphere
6. Falling Man – Espresso Del Lago/Yeti
7. Bomberclad Joint (Knowtoryous) – Kruder & Dorfmeister/The K&D Sessions
8. Dreaming of You – Chevalier

All the artists, with the exception of Vision and Chevalier, can be found on iTunes

Self correction: I mentioned in the podcast that if I forgot anyone, to charge it to my heart and not my mind….NOT!! Charge it to my MIND and not my HEART! HAHA!

Here’s to a wonderful day, night, and week. Thanks for listening…

peace….
Fresh!

New Start For The SSP!

Hello Listeners…

Yes I know you are saying what the heck happened. I have a new host, BUT, I didnt know I could transfer the old content BEFORE I transferred the DNS info…so I (gulp) lost everything. Nice 1-year anniversary present to me huh? Oh well.

I want to thank two special people for helping me alleviate this problem.

1) Lis: My long time friend and webdesigner/website life saver. Without her help, I doubt the Sunday Soundtrack would be in existence. She’s helped me get thing set up on this new host as well as COUNTLESS other things, web worthy, over the years.

2) Dee: When she found out, less than an hour ago, she started pulling all the cached pages of last years posts she could find. I was about to cut my losses in trying to recover code, if it wasn’t for her!

Thanks for being loyal and bearing with me during the rebuild. The SSP will be back soon!

peace,
F!
